“More Than a Sparrow” Product Range by creation26

Whilst on an A21 ‘Walk for Freedom’ in October 2021, as I was praying and worshipping God in my heart, I believe God gave me an idea close to the one I am working on here. Last Friday, as I was sketching out ideas, I believe God reminded me about the verse in the bible about sparrows. As I read the scripture, Matthew 10 v 29 – 31 says, “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why even the hairs on your head are numbered. Fear not, you are more valuable than any sparrows”. I have used this bible verse as a point of reference in my designs. For the enamel pin and notebook design.

Originally I saw birds flying which resembled freedom, however since being reminded of this scripture, I have based the actual print design on sparrows, rather than white doves, that usually tend to resemble peace.

When thinking about captivity and freedom, there isn’t necessarily a beauty attached with captivity however it does reflect the aspect of living a life redeemed. I’ve decided to use broken chains interrupted with a heart as a design for the headscarf print.

About the Product Range

“These items are personal to my journey. Who I am.

I absolutely love wearing headscarves of all shapes and sizes and absolutely love expressing my fashion styles with them.

I often purchase badges and embroiled patches to adorn and customise my clothing. I am always journaling as I believe it is a wonderful way of processing our thoughts and gaining clarity over our dreams and visions. Art – because I am a true artist at heart.

The headscarf will be printed digitally onto an ethically sourced fabric.

The A5 notebook will be created using recycled paper and printed using the Riso method.

The pin is created out of enamel.

There is also an option of creating an A4 art print that uses the riso print method, that sits well in a range of items, as a collection.

About the Artist

Created by Miss Charlie Lamb – an ethical and bespoke british fashion + home brand. It all began in 2004 after graduation, first a fashion collection, then one more, then a few more, then creation26 was born.

Mission – To create a sustainable lifestyle brand and to raise awareness about recycling, slow fashion, re-using used materials and thus to reduce landfill.

My heart pulls for the marginalised, for campaigns such as A21, Watoto and for the homeless. My aim is to raise money for such charities through sales of these products. All is not set in place as yet but … coming soon.

The process is ongoing – keep watching to see the mystery unfold!
